Congratulations on your purchase of Zoo Med’s NATURALISTIC TERRARIUM HOOD!

The following instructions will assist you with the proper set-up and operation of this

unit. Please read the following instructions carefully. If you have any questions regarding

• Fits all 18” wide Naturalistic Terrariums (Zoo Med items NT-3 & NT-4).

• Includes built-in reﬂ ector and two sockets for heat and UVB lamps.

• UVB: Use with Zoo Med’s REPTISUN 5.0 UVB Compact Fluorescent Lamp and…

• HEAT: Zoo Med’s Daylight Blue Reptile Bulb for daytime heat or Zoo Med’s Nightlight

Red Reptile Bulb for 24 hour heat (up to 60 watts).

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

IMPORTANT: In order to reduce the risk of ﬁ res or electric shock, read and save these

instructions prior to operation.

• DO NOT exceed electrical rating.

• DO NOT splice, repair, or modify. Fully extend cord before using.

• DO NOT use in wet conditions. Use indoors only. Not for use with aquariums.

• Keep children and pets (other than your terrarium animals) away from ﬁ xture.

• Fully insert plug. Unplug power cord before inserting or changing bulb.

• To avoid possible electric shock, DO NOT insert objects other than approved light

bulbs into socket.

• DO NOT cover with blankets, rugs or any material.

• DO NOT operate the unit with a damaged cord, plug, or other component.

• DO NOT alter or modify this product. Contact an electrician if you are unsure about

the electrical connection.

• This unit has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to examine or repair this

product yourself. Return to Zoo Med for inspection and repair.

WARNING! RISK OF FIRE.

Read and save all safety instructions before operating lamp ﬁ xture.

POLARIZED: This appliance has a POLARIZED plug (one blade is wider than the other).

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to ﬁ t in a polarized outlet only

one way. If the plug does not ﬁ t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not ﬁ t,

contact a qualiﬁ ed electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:

• This ﬁ xture is designed for use with two 60 watt (max) type A incandescent lamps, or

one 26 watt compact ﬂ uorescent lamp in conjunction with one 60 watt (max) type A

lamp. Do not exceed electrical rating.

• This product is designed for terrarium use only. Not for aquarium use.

• Do not touch the bulbs or the inside of the ﬁ xture when ﬁ xture is in operation.

• Installing or replacing bulbs: Turn ﬁ xture off, unplug, and allow bulbs to cool before

handling. To turn the ﬁ xture off, press the on/off switches located on the back of the

ﬁ xture near the power cord. After bulb has cooled, carefully unscrew the bulbs from

the sockets, and replace with new bulbs.

• Place the ﬁ xture on top of the terrarium above the screen cover.

• Fully insert plug into power outlet.

• Turn ﬁ xture on using the on/off switches located on the back of the ﬁ xture near the

power cord.

WARRANTY:

Zoo Med Laboratories, Inc. (Zoo Med) warrants each Naturalistic Terrarium Hood to be

free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for one year

from the date of purchase. The obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or

replacement, at Zoo Med’s discretion, of the product or any part thereof, when the prod-

uct is returned to Zoo Med, freight prepaid. No claim shall be allowed under this warranty

if, in the opinion of Zoo Med, the Naturalistic Terrarium Hood has been subject to ac-

cident or improper usage, including but not limited to: water damage, improper storage,

accidental dropping, etc. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties and representa-

tions express or implied. Please include your receipt, full name, address, phone number,

and email address along with a note explaining failure when sending any product back to

Zoo Med. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for repair or replacement.
